The CP/GBV CoP and GBV AoR CoP are please to invite you to a two-part webinar on child and adolescent survivors with disabilities.

Webinar 1 - Thursday 10 September 2020, 2:00pm-3:30pm EAT: Applying a rights-based approach to child and adolescent survivors with disabilities. The session will include discussion and activities to unpack: attitudes/beliefs in relation to child and adolescent survivors with disabilities; the rights-based model for disabilities; risks faced by child and adolescent survivors with disabilities using an intersectional lens; and barriers that child and adolescent survivors with disabilities may face when accessing services.

Webinar 2 - Thursday 17 September 2020, 2:00pm-3:30pm EAT: Key considerations for a case management approach with child and adolescent survivors with disabilities. Building from Webinar 1, participants will take a deeper dive into some key considerations for a case management approach with child and adolescent survivors with disabilities. The session will include discussion and activities to unpack: key considerations when working with children/adolescent survivors with disabilities in humanitarian contexts, including communication, safe referrals, assent/consent, and safety planning; tools and best practices in working with caregivers of child and adolescent survivors with disabilities, including fostering positive power dynamics, supporting mothers who oftentimes face abuse and violence, and concerns around psychosocial support; and case management action planning for child and adolescent survivors with disabilities.

All CP/GBV CoP and GBV AoR CoP members are welcome to attend both webinars. Please note, however, that if you plan to attend Webinar 2, we ask that you also attend Webinar 1 so that all who participate in Webinar 2 have a shared foundation to dive deeper into how to practically support child and adolescent survivors with disabilities through a case management approach.
